If you have any queries please contact Miss Ward (Assistant Head for Early Years).
Routines and Expectations
Drop off and Pick up. The morning session starts at 8.30am. Please use the Nursery gate and take your child to the Nursery door. Any child arriving after 8.40am is late. At the end of the morning the gates are unlocked at 11.30am, parents come and collect from the Nursery door. Please stand back to enable staff to dismiss children safely and allow children to easily spot their grown-up. The afternoon session starts at 12.30pm, any child arriving after 12.40pm is late. Learning time ends at 3.30pm, doors will open after this time.
Daily Reading. Sharing a book with your child is fun! It's a time for closeness, laughing and talking together - and it can also give children a flying start in life and help them become lifelong readers. That's why we enourage you to read at home every day for at least 10 minutes. This can be a bedtime story or sharing one of our school books. The most important element is that you talk about the story together, the characters and their favourite parts to support comprehension. Children need to bring their book bags into school daily to support their independence.
Tapestry. Tapestry is a secure online Learning Journal to showcase learning. Please check it regularly to find out what your child has been learning and how you can support them at home. It is really useful if you upload your child’s learning and experiences your child is doing at home. This creates a strong partnership and enables your child to be able to share their learning at school as well as for us to see how they have continued their learning at home. Please do speak to your child's class teacher if you have any issues accessing Tapestry.
